Cow Cuddling ( N.H.)
As our readers know, Jessica and I are always up for an animal encounter whether it be near or far. For our birthday’s we prefer to find an activity to do or a new place to go as opposed to buying gifts.
A few months ago I found a farm in New Hampshire that offers cow cuddling, and I knew Jessica would be all for it for her birthday.
The Granite Oak Farm https://graniteoakfarm.com/ in Harrisville N.H. offers cuddling both 30 and 60 minute cow cuddling and you can even pick the cow(s)!! Jessica decided that she wanted to share the love and cuddle 2 cows so she chose Biscuit and Peppermint.
We arrived at the farm, parked and followed the signs directing us to the barn. It had rained a few days before so it was a bit muddy but we went prepared with old sneakers knowing we would be getting cow slobber and various other biohazards on them. 🙂
We were greeted by Brian, one of the owners, an introduced to Biscuit our first cuddle victim. 🙂 We were immediately nuzzled by a cute, wet, cow nose…. how can you not love a cow nose????? After spending 30 minutes brushing, scratching and loving on Biscuit, it was time to the next stall to spread the love to Peppermint.

Brian left us alone with Biscuit, but when we went in with Peppermint he stuck around initially as he told us that Peppermint can be a bit “feisty”. Maybe Peppermint should have been warned that I’ve been called that too…LOL! I will say that Peppermint was a bit of a handful and enjoyed playing rough, but I was fine and Brian made sure I was ok while we were there.

As of this post date, there are 4 different cows to cuddle. The cost is $35 for 30 minutes ( you can add an additional person for $10) or $55 for 60 minutes.
If you’re looking for something laid back and animal related, we think you would enjoy some cow cuddling. Just don’t have anywhere nice to go after….. 🙂
The next morning we stopped at Brewbakers https://brewbakerskeene.com/ so Jessica could grab a coffee before heading to downtown Keene to check out the vibe. From the moment we walked in it was clear that Brewbakers is a hot spot in Keene! From young to old this place was packed with people chatting, laughing and enjoying their morning beverage and some breakfast.
The coffee shop has an earthy feel with reclaimed wood counters, exposed brick walls, and deep green accents that bring the outdoors in. Plants give the space a fresh, organic vibe. The smell of coffee and music softly playing in the background, created relaxed atmosphere where you can get some work done, enjoy your beverage or just people-watch.

It was early and I’m not an early morning person ( or eater) but I will say that every item that went by looked and smelled fantastic! As these Two Girls like to say…..”a jammed packed parking lot doesn’t happen by accident”.

I had heard that downtown Keene had some great shops and bakeries so we made sure to stop and check it out. Even on a cool Spring day, the downtown area was lively and the businesses were packed with patrons. After a bit of walking around I found myself craving something not good for me so we decided to try out Fritz https://www.fritzkeene.com/ We ordered the Poutine Fries ($15) and let’s just say YUM! The golden fries topped with rich, savory brown gravy and fresh cheese curds were melted just enough to create the perfect balance of crispy and creamy. It may not have been a healthy lunch but I know you aren’t all judging us! 🙂
Before heading home I needed to sample something sweet but there were more than a few that looked amazing so I chose one the one closest to a car and it was a WINNER!
Eat More Cake https://eatmorecake.org/ is described on it’s website as a French inspired boutique catering to custom orders and grab and go items. They sell scratch made cookies, cakes, desserts, but the one that gave me all the feels was the whoopie pie! The picture doesn’t do it’s size justice…it was HUGE! The cake was moist and the cream……as the cream… sweet, but not too sweet and oh so creamy. Probably the best whoopie pie I’ve had to date!!

The other goodies did make it home and were also fantastic! I know the next time we are in the Keene area I will make sure we stop by downtown for some good eats and treats.
If you’re thinking of a quick overnight getaway, don’t want to break the bank and love animals, we think you should head to the granite Oak Farm Website and book some cuddles. While you’re there be sure to check out downtown Keene…. we don’t think you’ll be disappointed! Oh and while you’re getting snuggly with a cow don’t forget to mention that Two Girls Spooning sent ya!!!
Happy Spooning!
